Romance in Bloom - Recipe by Jill Slater

Materials:

Romance in Bloom
  • One 8-inch mixing bowl (Jill used a red and white striped bowl)
  • 24 Stems white roses
  • 5 Stems miniature variegated pittosporum
  • 1 bricks floral foam
  • Floral clippers, knife and floral preservative/food
Directions:
Step 1 - Soak the floral foam in water that has been treated with floral preservative/food for 30 minutes.

Step 2 - Cut half a brick of soaked floral foam into small 1-inch x 1-inch squares and place inside mixing bowl until the bowl is full of floral foam.

Step 3 - Top off the foam squares with the other soaked brick of floral foam. Cut this top piece of foam so that it rises about 1-inch above the rim of the bowl and make sure it fits snugly in the bowl.

Step 4 - Cut the white roses to approximately 2-inches in length and insert one into the center of the floral foam.

Step 5 - Insert the remaining white roses around the center rose, working toward the edge of the bowl.

Step 6 - Use the pittosporum at bowl's rim. Cut pittosporum to approximately 2-inches in length and insert into floral foam.
