Materials:

- 1 seven-inch pumpkin (faux or real)
- 1 brick floral foam
- 1 pirate eye patch and hat
- 1 steak knife for pirate's mouth and sculpting
- 1 large bunch (about 50 stems) bear grass
- 2 stems orange pin-cushion proteas
- 3 stems green luecadendron
- 2 stems orange gerbera daisies
- 10 greening pins or 3 pieces 27-gauge (12-inches long) straight wires
- Floral clippers, floral food/preservative
- Knife and spoon for cutting and scooping out pumpkin
- Black permanent marker

| Directions:

Step 1 - Soak the floral foam, for at least 30 minutes, in water that has been treated with flower food/preservative.

|
Step 2 - Cut and scoop out pumpkin.
|
|
|
Step 3 - With permanent marker, draw eye and nose of Pirate Pumpkin.
|
|
|
Step 4 - Insert the floral foam into the pumpkin. With steak knife, shape the foam coming out of the pumpkin into a cone/Christmas tree shape.

Step 5 - Now, begin wrapping the bear grass around the foam, using the greening pins to hold the bear grass in place. (If using straight wire, cut the wire into 3-inch lengths; bend in half and use as bobby pins.)

Step 6 - Place and pin (use greening pins or straight wire) pirate patch and hat on pirate and begin inserting flowers. Leucadendron to one side and protea and gerbera daisies on other. The faux spider webs go on top.

Step 7 - Finally, insert the steak knife in the mouth position.
